out of season
I've mentioned before the number of things that we had to leave behind, most material things being of little real consequence, but today we finally managed to get a replacement for something that we have missed far more than we thought. After paying the small amount of $30 via TradeMe (and the considerably larger amount of $200 for delivery), I came home today from work to find our new piano standing in a place where it looks like it's always stood.
Apart from the fact that we've all (kids especially) missed playing about on it, the piano makes everything feel a bit more, well, Christmassy. I know that's a bit weird, but having a Winter holiday with no festivities is a little weird too, and the only tune I know is "Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
